Longnose Hawkfish (Oxycirrhites typus)

A red crosshatched hawkfish with a long snout that perches openly on rock and gorgonians instead of hiding. Reaches about 5 inches, is very hardy and full of personality. Safe with corals but will eat small ornamental shrimp and tiny fish. Minimum tank 30 gallons with a lid. Diet: mysis and chopped meaty foods. Care level: easy.
